HOW IT ALL STARTED
FOLLOWING MY PASSION TO UNITE DOG LOVERS
Meet Vesna Ader
After 17 years as a physician assistant, Vesna Ader decided to follow her passion and start working with dogs. After years of rainy, dreary days at the dog park, she imagined a better option. A place where her dog can socialize and have fun but where she can also enjoy herself. No longer having to choose between going out after work with friends or spending time with her dog was her inspiration. She wanted to start a place where dog lovers can meet each other. Building community is important to Vesna. And what better way to build community than with our dogs.
In 2018 she began the transition into working with dogs professionally. She worked at a local doggy daycare for a year and has been volunteering regularly at The Oregon Humane Society since 2018. She became a certified dog trainer through Catch Academy in 2020 and has been working on helping dogs and their people live better lives together since that time.

Our Team
Savannah (she/her)
Manager
Savannah has been with The Ruff House since early 2023. She was one of our dog handlers and was promoted to manager after being a dog handler for a year. She has always loved animals and has wanted a job where she could work with them. That is what led to her starting to work at The Ruff House. Savannah is eager and excited about starting her journey as a manager. She loves working with all of the pups! She relishes connecting with our clients and discussing how their pup is doing in daycare. She loves watching them grow into confident, sweet, and smart pups. She wants to enrich every one of their lives. The most rewarding part about working at The Ruff House is seeing the dogs in our care thrive and succeed in daycare!
Max (he/him)
Groomer and Manager
Max has been with The Ruff House from the beginning working in both our daycare as a dog handler and as our wonderful groomer. He had always searched for something that combined his creative passion with his love of animals. After bringing home his Keeshond puppy, Kovu, in 2020 and learning how to maintain his coat, he fell in love with the idea of dog grooming. He started grooming for The Ruff House in August 2021 and graduated from Paragon School of Pet Grooming in early 2022. His favorite styles of grooming are creative grooms and Asian freestyle, but he also has a love for traditional styles and the average pet haircuts. He also began helping out in Daycare at The Ruff House in late 2021, completing both the 101 and 201 courses with The Dog Gurus. Max is currently a daycare manager with The Ruff House but continues to groom a few days per week. He strives to give every dog that comes in the same individual love and care he gives his own dog, while also maintaining the goal of building each dog’s confidence. His favorite part of working with animals is seeing each dog’s brilliant personality shine, as well as connecting with pet parents.
